Part Lay Fixabet Calculator with Place Bet Option

This guide explains how to use the Fixabet Calculator with Part Lay (Place) option to fix partially matched each-way bets, specifically the win and place components separately.

Part Lay Fixabet Calculator with Place Bet Option

This is an alternative version of the Each Way Calculator with a Fixabet section, which allows the win and place parts of part-laid each-way bets to be fixed, and which shows the overall position as a result of all of the bets. This other calculator can be found here.

To speed up the process of just fixing either the win or place part of the bet with a simpler calculator, without having to enter in lots of details, there is also an alternative version of the Fixabet Calculator for Part Lay mode only, which has an extra 'Part Lay (Place)' option on the drop-down list The calculator can be found here:-

Fixabet with Place Bet Option - Excel format

The calculator is basically the same as the regular Fixabet Calculator, so that guide would be the best resource to see how to fix bets. It does not have 'Cash Out' options or the ability to underlay or overlay bets, so the main Fixabet would need to be used for that. It still has both 'Normal' and 'Free Bet (SNR)' modes, although as mentioned below, 'Free Bet (SNR)' mode does not work alongside 'Part Lay (Place)'.

The only additions to the calculator are a 'Part Lay (Place)' option in the drop-down list and a third 'Part Lay' section (the main Fixabet has two part lays possible):-

If this is selected, the calculator changes to remove the back commission option (you would not be placing each way back bets with an exchange, so this is unnecessary in this mode) and adds 'Place Back Odds' and 'Place Payout' boxes:-

The 'Place Back Odds' are calculated automatically based on the 'Back Odds' (i.e. the win back odds) and the 'Place Payout'.

Using the Calculator

The main Fixabet Calculator guide is here, and this should be the main guide to using Fixabet.

Fixing a Part Laid Place Bet

This example shows how you would use the calculator to fix the place part of a £20 each way bet with win odds of 7 and place payout of 1/5. This bet would be made up of a win bet with a stake of £20 at odds of 7 and a place bet with a stake of £20 at odds of 2.2 (total £40 stake). A stake of £20 would be entered for this bet. For this example, both the win and place bets are partially matched:-

Fixing the Win Part

First, select 'Part Lay' mode from the drop-down menu:-

So far, £11.20 has been matched at odds of 7.6. This is entered into the 'Part Lay One' section. Part Lay Two and Three are left blank, since there is only one part laid bet in place:-

The 'Results' section shows that a lay bet of £7.08 at current odds of 7.8 is required to fully match the bet.

Fixing the Place Part

First, select 'Part Lay (Place)' from the 'Mode' drop-down menu:-

This will add the 'Place Payout' option. This is a 1/5 payout race, so enter 5 in this box. The 'Place Back Odds' of 2.2 will be shown. These are the odds that the bookie is paying on the place part of the each-way bet.

Two part lays are in place, one with a £5.23 stake at odds of 2.4 and another with a £2.28 stake and odds of 2.5. These are entered into the appropriate boxes:-

The 'Results' section then shows that to fully match the place part of the bet, a lay stake of £11.23 at current odds of 2.3 is required:-

**N.B. The calculator does not work with a combination of Free Bet (SNR) and Part Lay (Place) and this will show an error message at the start of the Results section:-

You should not place free bets on each-way bets, as mentioned, since the bookmaker payout may well be less than you are expecting on the place part of an each-way bet.

The bet could be alternatively fixed using the Each Way Calculator With Fixabet for Part Laid Bets. The results section of this calculator would look like this, and the figures are all the same. The difference is that this calculator shows the overall position for the whole bet, including total losses for win and place parts and the extra place potential profit:-
